Online therapy is also known by the terms teletherapy, e-therapy and telemedicine. I am able to offer video conferencing using the platform doxy.me which is HIPAA compliant. Doxy.me requires either chrome or firefox, a computer/laptop or smartphone with both a camera and microphone, and a strong internet connection. Clients who are at risk for suicidality or other risk factors may not be good candidates for teletherapy and we will discuss this during your assessment.
I am able to offer therapy for clients anywhere in the state of California. It has many benefits including:
- Convenience. You can access sessions from the convenience and privacy of your home or office without driving to and from sessions.
- Effective. Research shows it is often as effective as in-person therapy.
- EMDR. Emdr is now available via teletherapy depending on the situation.
- Accessible. It is especially convenient for people who are living with chronic health or pain issues.
In order to for your session to be the most successful I encourage you to log in a little early in case of connectivity issues, make sure you are in a quiet and private space, make sure your devices are charged, take care of your creature comforts (blankets, tissue, pets). I will send you a link to access doxy.me prior to our sessions. I require you to confirm your phone number in case our internet connection is poor and your physical address prior to each session in case of emergency. If you would like more information please contact me at 916-952-7187 or email@example.com.
